Catholic and Protestant Easter

We inform our customers that the European Automated Real-time Gross Settlement Express Transfer System in real time (TARGET2 system) will be closed on the 2nd and the 5th of April 2021, ie. on Holy Friday and the second day of the Catholic and Protestant Easter respectively. These days do not coincide with holidays within the Greek Territory and therefore, according to article 11 of Law 3336/2005, are days of “special holiday” of interbank transactions and the provisions of this article will  be applicable.

These will be working days for the Bank’s Personnel, however no transactions will be made to third parties with a value date from 02.04.2021 to 05.04.2021. Therefore, the Bank will provide normal service to the trading public, however, due to non-operation of the TARGET2 System, the settlement of interbank transactions will take place on 06.04.2021.

As a result: On these dates, debt payments which will be recorded from Friday, April 2 to Monday, April 5 and remittances, ie. transfers to accounts of other domestic and foreign banks which will be recorded from Friday, April 2 to Monday, April 5, 2021, to be executed within the above period, will be performed on Tuesday, April 6, which is considered as the next working day. Transfers and payments within the Cooperative Bank of Karditsa and salaries will be normally executed.

The same applies to DIAS Payment System, which will not operate, during the above period, ie. will not perform settlement and arrangements and will not exchange payment and check transaction files with the Banks and the Managing Organizations.
