Share Sira Project Pilot Action

“Adaptation of a website, creation of web banking and creation of information points with QR code to facilitate accessibility to refugees – immigrants”
The section of the website you are navigating attempts to provide useful banking information tailored to the needs of people with refugee and migrant backgrounds. Through this platform, it is sought to facilitate the economic and social integration of those who live in the Regional Unit of Karditsa, although not exclusively, as due to the nature of the information and services provided online, access is also possible by residents of other areas of the country.

The Cooperative Bank of Karditsa, located in the center of the city of Karditsa, began its operation as a Credit Cooperative Organization in 1994 and evolved into a Credit Institution in 1998. The Bank was created by the contribution of institutions and citizens of the Prefecture of Karditsa, contributing to its development, while in recent years, we have been active throughout the country, supporting farmers, small and medium enterprises, professionals, energy companies. As a member of FEBEA, our main approach revolves around the individual and the business as axes, to support their development needs.

We focus on vulnerable social groups such as Roma, refugees, immigrants, young people, single-parent families, etc. through flexible banking products, services and partnerships that meet their needs.

In the framework of the SHARE SIRA project to strengthen and expand the social orientation and integration of newly arrived refugees and immigrants in rural areas of Europe, the Cooperative Bank of Karditsa is implementing a pilot action with the aim of facilitating this inclusion in practice.

Under this action, our website is translated into French and Arabic (already available in Greek and English), our web-banking was adapted and translated into English, French and Arabic and QR Posters with useful information of banking interest in the above languages were placed within the prefecture of the city of Karditsa.
